3rd Annual Door Jam! Fundraiser at The Loft
Capital Region Habitat Young Professionals (HYP) invites Greater Lansing to attend the 3rd Annual Door Jam! fundraiser at The Loft in Lansing on Thursday, September 21 at 6 pm.
Door Jam! is a fundraising event that also celebrates the talent of local artists in the Capital Region. Earlier this spring, each artist chose a door, cabinet, lamp or other item from the Habitat ReStore to transform into a work of art. At Door Jam!, the items will be part of an exciting live auction to raise money for programs coordinated by HYP. There will also be a silent auction, raffle, live music, food and refreshments.
Money raised at Door Jam! allows HYP to run Habi-Kids, which engages with the younger Lansing population to help stabilize and build a strong community. During each class, children learn basic construction skills and build a toy of their own to take home. Habi-Kids takes place the 3rd Saturday of each month at the Habitat ReStore in Lansing. HYP hopes to expand the program to larger groups and underprivileged children while keeping the program at no cost to families.
“Door Jam! is a great reminder of the abundance of creative talent in the Capital Region,” says Lily Werbin, HYP President. “It’s an event where creatives and admirers can unite to support Habitat for Humanity’s efforts to better our community.” Tickets are available now, and prices will increase at the door.
