It's the Michigan Farm to Institution Network and it's now in place. It aims to make sure schools, hospitals and other facilities that offer food through a cafeteria setting have more ready access to fruits and vegetables grown by Michigan farmers.

Michigan State University recently did a study and found about 70% of those who order food for these facilities get what they need from a Michigan farmer. The objective is to get the word out so more are aware of the wide array of locally grown food that's available and how easily it can be ordered.
