WILX.com is reporting a major change at East Lansing's Amtrak Station. Starting Monday, October 29, there no longer will be a staffed ticket counter for passengers to purchase boarding passes.

Paper tickets will no longer be required for passengers to board trains in East Lansing. Tickets can be ordered online, by phone, or by mobile app. A self-serve kiosk will replace ticket agents at the East Lansing depot. But, if passengers do not want to use a credit card to purchase boarding passes, Amtrak gift cards are available at many retail outlets.
