A teacher at Detroit Pershing High School has been fired after she attempted to break up a fight with a broom, by hitting one of the students.

Much of the fight was caught on video with two students going at it pretty good.  One student pins the other one down and starts throwing hay-makers that could have really injured the other.

Viewing the video it does not look like the teacher was hitting the teenage boy very hard.

What is a teacher suppose to do when two teenagers go at it, let one injure the other one badly?

The chancellor of the Education Achievement Authority who runs the school has recommended to the authorities board of directors that the teacher be terminated.  She will have a chance to appeal in front of the board of directors.

This school is not unionized and believe this teacher should not have been fired, she does have a chance to appeal.
