Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney met in Nashville in 2012 and began writing together.  They released an album, Where It All Began, on April 1, 2014.  With two singles on the charts the duo began opening for major players in the country music world.   Hunter Hayes has invited them to open for him on his current tour.

Dan+Shay played the Intersection in Grand Rapids on Sunday.  The show was filled with energy from not only the singers but the crowd.  The venue was packed, fans were shoulder to shoulder and loving every second of the show.

The group played almost every song off of their debut album and the audience sang along to each and every one.  At one point in the show Smyers asked the crowd to do an acoustic sing along to Can't Say No.  There were no microphones used, the crowd sang at the top of their lungs and the pair watched in amazement.  "I sing along to Keith Urban, I do what you just did when I see his show.  To have you sing our songs back to us...this is the best moment of my life.  Thank you," said Smyers following the impromptu sing-a-long.

Watching the show it was apparent the crowd was feeding the performers.  With each song it felt as if they were leaving a piece of themselves on the stage.  Most groups don't sound as good live as they do recorded, this was not true for Dan+Shay.  Their voices gave me chills.

This is the first concert I have stayed to the end of.  I was sad when it finished.  I could have listened to them and watched them perform all night.

This is a duo to watch.  They are up for CMA Vocal Duo of the Year.  Tune in to ABC on November 5 at 8 p.m. to find out if they win.
