Retailers are hoping cyber Monday pushed them over the bottom line.  It’s expected shoppers were able to spend at least 2 billion dollars just with the click of a mouse.  Businesses were offering big discounts including free shipping.  Cyber Monday, as it’s been called since 2005, is viewed as especially important this year due to the lackluster Black Friday numbers.  Stats showed more people were out shopping on Thanksgiving and the day after but fewer were actually spending money.  Analysts say if Monday’s buying was strong enough, it could end the Christmas season for retailers in the black—and even slightly ahead of last year.
