The voting record of U. S. Senate candidate Congressman Gary Peters will take center stage today in Lansing.   And organizers say they hope it will serve as a wake-up call heading into the mid-term elections.

Members of the group "Americans for Prosperity" have scheduled a news conference to unveil an ad buy that highlights the democrat's legislative record--which includes his vote "for" the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare.

Peters, of Bloomfield Township near Detroit, is expected to be the nominee to replace fellow Democrat, U. S. Senator Carl Levin, who announced last year he would not be seeking reelection..

Recent surveys show Peters' vote for Obamacare could come back to haunt him.  A Republican hasn't held that seat for decades, but some recent polls show Peters neck-in-neck with former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land, and some show the GOP likely nominee even ahead.

Those with "Americans for Prosperity" say Obamacare isn't the only controversial vote Peters has cast, but they say it is the most damaging in their estimation and they want to send someone to the nation's capitol who will work to repeal it.
