Casino Revenue in Detroit is Down

Detroit's three casinos did not make as much money last year. Numbers are in for the MGM Grand Detroit, Greektown Casino Hotel and the Motor City Casino. According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board overall revenue fell 4.7%. Analysts say a major

reason for the drop: four new casinos recently opening in nearby Ohio. With the casinos making less so did the city of Detroit. In 2012 they generated $114.8 million in tax revenue for the city. Last year, $109.3 million.
