I found this classic letter to the editor of the Lansing State journal recently and just couldn’t resist re-posting it here. Enjoy!

Two hours after buying a new car in 2012, I almost hit a deer that afternoon on a road to Shoals subdivision in Okemos. Then again last week on Coolidge Road at night, only a mile north of Frandor, I just missed hitting a big doe.

To reduce the glut of deer in cities in the Lower Peninsula, we should trap wolves in the Upper Peninsula and release them down here. Not only would they cull these city deer, but also cut down on stray dogs and cats.

We had wolves down here before the rapacious white man poisoned them and stole the land from the Indians. Now, if only the Humane Society and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals could get a ballot proposal to get this done, then we could have these nice cuddly critters down here and less deer car crashes.
