Next month a hearing could take place in Federal Court that could prevent a Coast Guard permit from being issued that would help clear the way for another bridge to be built that would connect Detroit and Canada.

Those who represent the Ambassador Bridge are taking the action. They say the current bridge ownership has the exclusive right to construct another one and not the state. Governor Snyder and Canada have already come to terms on building a new bridge but ever since their plans have encountered legal obstacles. Reports indicate the court could eventually decide which side ends up doing the work.
