Renk

Renk is a native Detroiter, and started his working career in the banking industry in Boston, Massachusetts, a great town for a young person. That led him to a company that sold bond accounting systems to the banking industry and gave him the chance to travel all over the United States for eight years. After that, he got married and settled down to work in a friend's business, helping drug companies deal with FDA compliance. Several years later the family moved from the Philadelphia area back to Michigan to be closer to family, and landed in Battle Creek, Michigan. That's when Renk decided to pursue his life long dream of working as a Talk Radio Host. He started out on WBCK, and added WKMI in Kalamazoo in 2011.

Michigan Considers Increasing Speed Limit to 80 mph

A package of bills are being considered in Michigan's House of Representatives that would do the following:

  • increase speed limits up to 80 mph on rural expressways

and

  • points on drivers' licenses for tickets of 5 mph or less over the speed limit would be eliminated

The Michigan State Police would need to perform speed studies on rural highways to determine the appropriate amount to increase the speed limits.

Lower Truck Weight Limits In MI

 

Did you know there was a bill to lower the weight of heavy commercial trucks in Michigan?

Did you also know that Michigan has the highest in the nation weight limits on those commercial trucks?

Well there was and the Senate yesterday voted it down, and we do have the highest in the nation weight limits on commercial trucks

A bill sponsored and introduced by State Senator Steve Bieda, D-Warren, had proposed decreasing the 164,000-pound limit for an 11-axle truck to 80,000 pounds spread across five axles.
