University of Maryland Researchers say it is possible that development of an Ebola vaccine in Africa is underway.  It is being reported that three health care workers in Mali have received the experimental shots that were developed by the U.S. government.

So far Mali has not reported any cases of Ebola, however it does border the outbreak zone.

Developers of the vaccine are encouraging tests to be done in Ebola-free zones to avoid complicating factors.

There have been 8,033 cases of suspected or confirmed Ebola in West Africa according to the World Health Organization.  Of those cases 3,865 have resulted in death.  The numbers keep increasing, with cases being reported in many more countries.
