MLive.com is reporting that Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum is the latest to pull her name "out" of the ring in the race for the 8th District Congressional seat.  Byrum making the announcement after a visit with fellow Democrats in Washington, D. C.

She says she is better able to "serve the people of Michigan by staying in her current position."  She points to gridlock in the nation's capitol as contributing to her decision not to seek the Democratic nomination for the position.

Earlier, Lansing Mayor Virg Bernaro, after initially sending out a written statement that he was "not" interested in running for the U.S. House of Representatives, then said he was considering the run, opted out of being a candidate as well.
