I was a bit surprised when I compared how much the state collected in taxes and fees the year before Governor Snyder was elected and this year.

Michigan taxpayers paid $26.3 billion in the 2010-2011 tax year and is expected to collect $32.1 billion for 2017-2018 tax year.

That my friends is an increase of $5.8 billion and according to an article in the Michigan Capitol Confidential an increase of 9.7% after adjusting for inflation.

We know that the Democratic Party is addicted to spending and there is no one in that party that would truly consider cutting spending.  With that being known, we now know that the Republican Party in Michigan is also addicted to spending and will never real consider cutting spending before taking on any new spending.

Where do you think that will eventually take us?
