WILX.com reports that another 1.7 million vehicles are being recalled by a number of manufacturers over faulty airbags made by Takata Corporation.

Suburu, Tesla, BMW, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Ferrari, and Daimler have all issued more recalls over airbags that can kill drivers and passengers upon inflation. Hundreds of people worldwide have been injured by shrapnel from the airbags; 23 people have died.

The report states that the Takata airbags will be responsible for as many as 70 million vehicles worldwide before the issue is fully resolved. That is expected to be done late 2020.
