Here is what a part of the Kalamazoo River in Calhoun County looked like on July 28, 2010 not long after an Enbridge oil pipeline ruptured. Over 800,000 gallons ended up in the water. Ever since Enbridge has been working to get the river cleaned up. An E.P.A. deadline to finish dredging was December 31. A deadline that was missed. Earlier Enbridge asked for an extension but the E.P.A. would not approve one. Enbridge has said dredging will start again when the weather gets better in the spring.  As for the missed deadline at this point there is no telling what enforcement action the E.P.A. could take.
