Annual List of Banished Words with No Surprises

The annual list of "'had enough of" words announced by Lake Superior State University is out and not surprisingly 'selfie' and 'twerk or twerking' made the list of shame.

The school has been releasing the list of overused terms since 1975 and this year got 2000 nominations on what should no longer be considered acceptable.

In addition to "selfies", which means snapping a self-photo , and "twerking", which is a sexually provacative way of dancing made famous by Miley Cyrus' performance at the MTV Video Music Awards,  "Mr. Mom" has been banished as well.  University officials say the term is offensive to the millions of men who are primary caregivers or stay-at-home dads who care for the children while their wives or partners are the primary breadwinners..
